PLEASE TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES (mixed media)

Please take off your shoes is a video-installation presented for the Node festival in Paris.

A dark room is arranged with prayer carpets oriented in the direction of the Mecca by following the compass integrated on the carpets' surface, where few amateur cameras screen the images of the riots which followed the 2009 Iranian presidential election, available for the spectators to be used by looking back and forward on the recorded tape.

In the direction of the Mecca a 2 channels video about demonstrations in support of Mousavi and about the role of returned Iranians (Iranians who lived abroad and who decided to come back to their homeland) is screened in loop.

In the opposite direction an old television is broadcasting Ahmadinejad official campaign.

To enter in the room is necessary to take off the shoes, as if entering inside a mosque.
Men and women must enter following different time schedules.
